Description
The inspiration for this piece came from driving around the countryside in late winter when the fields had been newly ploughed but it was still too cold for anything to start growing. I love the textures and contours of the landscape and the contrast between the very dark brown earth and the vivid greens of the fields.
I created this picture using a variety of mark making techniques on cotton canvas fabric, such as stencilling, hand painting, applique and stitching.
I have put a simple frame around it, made using pine bars painted with black chalk paint to give it a matt, slightly distressed finish.
Dimensions: Including frame 33.5 cm width x 43cm height, 2 cm depth; unframed 31cm x 41 cm
