Description
Exploring different ways of painting and creating patterns on fabric.
We will practise various techniques for mark making on fabric– freehand painting, simple screen printing with stencils, stamps, potato prints, tapes – as well as considering pattern placement and colour.
In the last part of this workshop, you will be able to use some of your fabric to create your own unique lampshade or alternatively, a square wall panel.
Participants of all abilities are welcome (over 16’s only), and all materials are provided. If you want, you can bring along any reference materials (magazine cuttings, old greetings cards, photos) or favourite fabrics can be helpful too. Also, bring an apron or wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting marked (just in case!). We’ll have a short break for lunch and it would be a good idea to bring a packed lunch with you. I will provide tea/coffee and treats!
